Yes, we're actively expanding our provider network. We're selective about credentialing, clinical quality, and English fluency, but we're always looking for experienced physicians who want to see international patients on a flexible, supplemental basis.
Where do providers have to be located?
Providers in out network can be located anywhere in the world. We allow, and often support, providers to work from other physical locations — they just need to hold the proper licensing for the markets they're serving.
Where do physicians need to be licensed to work with you?
Our providers are licensed in markets around the world. The key requirement is that physicians hold the appropriate licensing for the regions where they're treating patients.
Are providers employees of Awayward?
No, Awayward is not a medical clinic. We act as a high-touch marketplace connecting travelers to licensed providers in markets around the world. Each provider is a contractor with their own clinical oversight, insurance, and scheduling, and we simply provide them with resources and volume.
What specialists can join?
We welcome specialists of any kind. The volume of cases depends on the needs of travelers, so specialties like psychiatry, pediatrics, and ENT are more common. We are actively looking for specialists to join our virtual network to see patients through our telemedicine infrastructure on a flexible schedule. We also work with official clinic partners for in-person referrals. These organizations act as direct referral partners when travelers need care beyond telemedicine. Clinic and specialist partners (ENT, orthopedic, diagnostics, and more) become official Awayward referral partners at no cost, receiving warm, pre-triaged patients from our clinical coordination team when in-person care is required.
